Hundreds of Peoples killed in latest Nepal Earthquake


In April 2015 Gorkha earthquake held on Nipal was killed over 8,000 people and injured over 19,000. It occurred at 11:56 NST (06:11:26 UTC) on 25 April. The magnitude of this earthquake was 7.8M or 8.1M. The earthquake was initially reported as 7.5M w by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) before it was quickly increases to 7.9M w & last decreases to 7.8M w.

ts epicenter was the village of Barpak, Gorkha district, & its hypocenter was at a depth of just about 15kilometer (9.3miles) and also with its epicenter approximately 34kilometer (2 miles) east-southeast of Lamjung, Nepal, lasting approximately 20sec, which is considered shallow & more damaging than quakes that originate deeper in the ground. Some casualties also reported in the adjoining part of India, China, & Bangladesh. The China Earthquake Networks Center(CENC) reported the earthquake's magnitude to be 8.1M s. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said 2 strong quakes were recorded in Nepal at 06:11 UTC and 06:45 UTC. The 1st quake calculated 7.9Mw & its epicenter were identified at a distance of 80kilometer to the northwest of Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. Bharatpur was the nearest large city to the main earthquake, 53kilometer (33miles) from the epicenter.


The 2nd earthquake was low power at 6.6Mw. It occurred 65kilometer (40miles) east of Kathmandu at a depth of 10kilometer (6.2miles) under the earth's surface. Over 35 aftershocks of magnitude 4.5Mw or greater occurred in the day following the initial earthquake, having the magnitude of 6.6Mw.
