Pakistan Winter Weather Update/Overview/Cold Wave & Rain Forecast (10-December-2017)

As expected, the WESTERN DISTURBANCE alongside an Arabian moisture has now started to affect Southeastern parts of Sindh resulting some Isolated showers there. However, it is just a beginning, some more EVENTS are likely to occur within next 24 hours! COLD WAVE will be followed by this system and it is likely to start affecting us from Monday night mainly.The Western disturbance itself has been carrying very less moisture but as it is likely to form an induced low over Surface till low level, it will help the WD to intensify as moisture is expected to in curve from Arabian Sea!


Showers / Light Rain is expected over Southeastern, Lower and Eastern Parts of Sindh within next 24 hours, while rest of the province is likely to remain Cloudy. Some isolated may also occur at Upper parts of the Sindh.

Karachi is also expected to get Drizzle / some Showers within next 24 hours, however chances are low (30%) as per latest models.


Mainly the northeastern and upper parts of the region is expected to get Moderate to Heavy Rainfall from Monday into Wednesday with Heavy Snowfall over Murree! Other Central and Southern parts of Punjab is expected to get Isolated to some Scattered Rainfall during that period. Heavy Rainfall along with Heavy Snowfall is likely over Kashmir!


Upper and Central Parts of Kyhber Pukhtunkhuwa are expected to get some GOOD RAINFALL with Snowfall over Mountainous ranges. However Heavy Rainfall is expected over Widespread region of Gilgit-Baltistan that will possibly coupled with Heavy Snowfall.


Although the WD has entered Pakistan through this region but since it itself has been carrying less moisture, it is not likely to produce any Rain over there, however some weak High levels are expected across the province for next some hours while rather Good Clouds could be over some Southeastern areas of the province within next 24 hours!
