After having delayed onset in Sirilanka, Nicobar Islands and adjoining southwestern Bay of Bengal due to Cyclonic storms Sagar and Mekunu, Monsoon 2018 is finally racing towards Indian landmass.

Srilanka witnessed a Wet monsoon onset, and now Monsoon has reached Kerala.

Low pressure systems around Southern India one over Southeastern Arabian sea and 2nd one over Bay of Bengal are helping monsoon to advance further into Indian landmass.

Northern Monsoon Limit NML is currently passing over southern Kerala and it is expected to cover whole Kerala and reach Karnataka during next 48-72 hours.

Under the influence of Strong low pressure system over Southeastern Arabian sea and Well-marked low pressure over Bay of Bengal, heavy rains are expected to continue over Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka.

A off shore trough is present over South Maharashtra and adjoining Telegana, pre-monsoon currents are also flowing towards these areas due to which light to moderate rain is expected in Pune, mumbai and Hyderabad.
